The Challenge

The summer season often leads to users spending less time on their devices, resulting in lower sales, decreased average order values (AOV), and diminished user engagement. 

This was precisely the challenge faced by our client, an e-commerce store specializing in summer apparel, who observed a 26% drop in revenue in June, with an AOV of 52.03 EUR. 

Despite maintaining strong click-through rates (CTR) and engagement with carousel ads, there was a pressing need for a new approach to revive sales and enhance user engagement during the low-activity summer months.


The Solution

We hypothesized that directing users to shoppable videos from paid channels, newsletters, and influencer campaigns could create a more immersive and engaging shopping experience and increase ROAS.

To test this hypothesis, we've installed the ReelTok, which allows redirecting users to a shoppable video URL on any page. Here is an example: ReelTok Shoppable Video Example (The product is for preview purposes only).

The client prepared three different offers for July and produced four unique video creatives for the campaign.

We employed the following testing strategy:
Each ad with creative A directed users to one of three different offer contents: A->B, A->C, and A->D. We applied the same testing logic to the remaining two offers as well.

P.S. It is also crucial to use a great offer to enable better performance of the Meta ads. Like in the example below buy 1 get 1 free. 

The Result

The results were better than expected. Ad campaigns that directed users to shoppable video placements outperformed those that directed users to product pages. The results were as follows:

  • 19.8% Increase in ROAS (Return on ad spend) 

  • 23% Decrease in CPA (Cost per purchase)  
     

The client was impressed by the results of this new ReelTok shoppable video funnel and has already started planning August offer launches, including multiple ReelTok shoppable video funnels.
